Well got a good nights sleep. Got up late dressed and went down the road a piece to my friend Steve's and we ate some leftover terriaki pork and veggies. I then returned home and installed the new phaser powerful hallogen headlights on my Jeep Wrangler. I then went to town and had a superchip installed and now the Jeep runs smoother faster and gets better gas mileage. Wife called the water is backing up in the kitchen sink -- $141 dollars later its fixed. We went to Outback to eat with some teacher friends. Seem to have run into everyone I know there. Good food good fellowship. Now to relax and read Burning Dreams

Ok, am I the ONLY one NOT reading Burning Dreams?
Seriously, I am reading Summon the Thunder, Taking the Wind, SCE #1, Takes from the Captain's Table, AND Articles of the Federation.
But NOT Burning Dreams... Is there something I am missing? Is there some sort of Shore Leave conspiracy to read the book before it is published?
If there is a conspiracy, I didn't get the memo. However, I knew from the beginning that I wanted to read the book as soon as it came out, and since I bought it at SL, I just had to read it right now. I actually finished it on the plane to Europe.
I love it. It has Garamet's typical anti-chronological style of storytelling, plus it's also a darned good story.
For me, I was all hyped about reading Summon the Thunder; of course, I was so impressed by last year's Harbringer that I wanted to see of D & D could continue Davvid Mack's start...
(And I bet you finished it on the plane back to Europe; that many hours in one place and you are limited in what you can do).
Well, I could at least choose between reading and talking to the American hobby missionary next to me. :D
READ!!! READ!!! Hell, fake having to look for Snakes on a Plane then get stuck in a conversation with a missionary!!
(Sorry, speaking from experience; I got stuck byside a missionary once and she tried to get me to go with her to where-ever. I explained that a) I was in school, b)____ was too far away from my family, and c) I wasn't a christian.) | |
